Nothing is Hid From the Eyes as a “Flame of Fire”

“His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;” (Revelations 1:14)

“The hoary (white or gray) head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:31) The white hair of Jesus here reflects the great honor that he deserves because of his perfect righteousness.

Jesus is the Lamb of GodJesus also is described in scripture as the lamb without blemish, white as wool, the perfect sacrifice. Jesus is the one that God the Father ordained before the foundation of the world to be the only sacrifice that would be accepted for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus’ sacrifice not only forgives and saves, but also has the power to change the very depths of the heart and soul to cause people to be able to live holy.

“But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” (1 Peter 1:15-21)

“… and his eyes were as a flame of fire.”

Jesus has eyes that see through everything. Nothing is hid from him! “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” (John 2:24-25)

These eyes as a flame of fire, by the Spirit of God and Word of God, burn through everything to see to the depth of the intents of the heart of man: “…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” Eph 6:17

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:12-13)

“The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3)

“And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.” (Hebrews 1:7)

  1. I had a dream many years ago, a single flaming eye of blazing fire was looking at me! but i could not tell if the eye meant evil or good when it look at me, but felt like virtue was drawing from me!! i was afraid in the dream, and earthquake shatter the ground all around me, i awake but that dream stayed with me i had never dream nothing like it or had before… i decide to look it up on the net the flaming eye, only to find out its taken from the word of god that i had not known before, but am a child of god baptized at 12yrs…. i know now it was not just a dream!!!!

    • Camille, what is important when we are in the presence of the one who can see to the very depths of our soul (because his eyes as fire see through everything in us, causing an earthquake in our soul) that we humble ourselves completely to submit to all his will. Being baptized at 12 years old will only help us if our hearts have stayed clear of sin (for baptism is supposed to be a testimony to all of the complete death of our old life of sin.)

May we be like John was when he saw Jesus with “his eyes as a flame of fire”. May we completely humble ourselves before Jesus in complete submission to his will (our own lives as dead) that Jesus may put his hand upon us, to use us for his will.

“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me…” ~ Revelation 1:17

  2. I have seen Him. There is no mistaking it. Through much prayer of my personal situation and hearts desire I was allowed to see Him through a revelation pertenant to my life struggles. There is a song by the Christian band, ‘Third Day’, called Revelation. It is connected to this experience. I was with a friend on the way to work. He needed to stop before hand to get an I Pass so we entered an oasis to get his pass. He had been helping me out with transportation problems I was having so just before getting there I asked God to bless this man. Upon entering the building I was aware of a dominion of the enemy present, off to the side. I said a protective prayer in the name of Jesus and we went up to the desk. As he was busy obtaining his pass I was free to look around. There were three men at a table. The two that were seated were very stoic and looking straight ahead across from each other. One was quite burly and stout. Someone you wouldn’t mess with. The other was smaller by stature but non the less as serious and not talking as the other. Just looking straight ahead. The third man was standing by there sides, tall man, impressive, jovial, joking, expressive, smiling, talking to these two. It struck me as odd. As I watched this there was an aura that permiated the building. The man standing turned towards us and nodded, as He did I heard in my soul, “this is the one you pray for” and saw a fire in His eyes that was into infinity and beyond. His eyes were the deapest ocean blue. But the Fire. There was a third female angel that walked up to right in front of me and flittered her feet in a way. Knew she was specially dispatched for my heart desire. I was amazed but could not speak. As we then left, they left with us. Increadibly moving and blending our movements to theirs. They went out just in front of us. Got into a car as we got into my friends pick-up. He was completely unaware. He put it in gear and started out but the timing put them leading us out. WOW. But His eyes!! No doubt. It was Jesus, the Christ, our Savior. I recount this on my own soul. David. Pce+

  3. I have heard accounts of people seeing Jesus in the current age. I now am certain these are true. This makes me no more a truer Christain then another. This makes me more accountible to his Glory and responsible to all our faith, in Him. Praise He who comes in the name of the Lord, Jesus. Amen. Pce +

    • Thank you David for your comment. Truly if we ever see Jesus as he really is, it will be very humbling, because we will also get a vision of how we stand before him. The contrast of the Almighty to the lowly created will be stark!

This is why when John saw him in the book of Revelation he fell down as dead, and when Peter, James and John saw him transfigured on the mount (see Mathew 17:1-8) they fell down on their faces sore afraid. Being in the presence of God is no small matter.

But this is why it is also imperative for everyone to forsake all sin and ask for forgiveness from Jesus, because it is completely terrifying for one still living in sin to fall into the hand of God.

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” ~ Hebrews 10:31

  4. Richard, I agree, when we stand at judgement ‘all’ will be revealed in the pure true Light of our God. A light in a flash knocked Saul off his high horse. Literally. And temporarilly blinded him. Historically. He then went on to become, debatedly, the greatest of all apostles of the ‘good word’. He almost single handedly spread Christanity throughout the world at that time. God decieded to use the passion filled Saul. Acts 9, 1 – 22. Then the redeemed Paul, changes the world, through Christ, Jesus.

I do not claim to completely understand my reveal, cognicently, of our brother Jesus. It is so powerful I am still comprehending a year later. My revelation will most certainly go on for my lifetime, here on earth. The reserected Lord, may be another matter. He held that after His death things would be different. The Holy Spirit would come, in and of Him. Instead of a curtain, which was torn upon His death, He, would be the way through to the most high, the Father. As you well know even His Own priests were struck down by The Allmighty. God the Father is to be reveared as All Powerful. The scripture I would like to quote as an example is: Exodus 19, 16 – 25. What a scene! I can only imagine. Israelites must have been wetting themselves before the Lord. Know I would have been. I contend that very possibly, when one see’s The Lord, the Fire in His eyes is a filter through Jesus that we not be burned on contact by the Father for our sinfulness. Hence our forgiveness through Jesus if we repent and follow Him who saves.

Thanks for your thoughtful consideration, David.

    In His, Pce +
